Which great Exhaust to go with?

Looking for a TBE exhaust. (HKS-TANABE-GREDDY-AMS)

Wondering what DP/TP people were running with the greddy TI?

with the hks TBE?

Tanabe already comes with DP/TP!

And Does the AMS come already TBE, or what dp/tp did everyone buy? thanks.

uh, people usually mix and match tbe with the greddy and hks

you will obviously get many different answers for the test pipe/dp combo (i.e. search yourself)
Greddy TI = great performance
HKS = overrated and overpriced
tanabe is a good tbe
ams = great and can either be a full tbe purchased or just a catback if you like

Dissagree. You can get the HKS muffler for around 350 new I believe, and have a fabbed full 3 inch tubing from downpipe back for 100 bucks.

Don't forget that the HKS is one of the best sounding/looking mufflers, and it doesnt cook your bumper like the greddy.

hks muffler is pretty small in diameter and fails the beer can test lol

of course custom is pretty cheap, but im talking about the original one from hks
carbon/ti is like $700ish range and its no where near being the top performance wise
it does look good though

and the only reason why greddy cooks your bumper is because its meant for the jdm bumper, not the usdm

Well you are going to get a wide variety of opinions on your question...as well as a few flames b/c it has been addressed quite a bit...That said, here is my opinion:

(1) Really depends on your short and long term goals....If you are going to stay with the stock turbo, you can probably get by just fine with a 2.75" dp...You can get 3" but the clearances are tight...There are several dp's that have proven to be OK with the 9...

(2) The gains with a bigger exhaust will vary, but some quiet exhausts actually do quite well...

(3) Many of the names you mentioned are catbacks vs. AMS sells a TBE...I have never seen the AMS TBE, but I am sure it is nice. I have the Skunk2 Racing 3" TBE and love it (but I am biased since I am the CEO). Buschur has a TBE as well that produces some nice gains but it is loud...For me the worst exhausts are the ones that drone at cruising speed ~3k - 4k rpm, since that is where I am most often...

Hope this helps...

Buschur Racing, it is the lightest and makes more power. What else do you want!

Ya, but it doesn't sound that great. The car i rode in had a honda n/a drone to it.

Maybe thats why they put the upstream bullet muffler in as well?

Think about it for a second though.

A 3 inch tube is a 3 inch tube is a 3 inch tube. If you take the same exact plumbing, hook up different straight through mufflers but with the same inlet and outlet diameter, they are not going to flow any different. Period.

If money is no factor: greddy Ti + 3in downpipe/tp of your choice - looks amazing, sounds amazing, performance = amazing
If looks arent a factor but money is somewhat: buschur full TBE- light, proven power, looks like ****
If looks, performance, and money are all factors: id look into the greddy Ti-c catback (with dp/tp of your choice), tanabe full tbe, or even megan full tbe options.
