Castrol makes good oil, but I've never heard of it being used in an Evo.

Use ENEOS 0w50

The filler cap says Mobil 1 10W-30. That is not a maker's recommendation, that is advertising (by the way, some of the best advertising ever done since most people think it is a recommendation) . The maker recommends pure synthetic 10W-30 and specifies no particular brand of oil.

I use mobil 1 because it's 20 bucks at walmart for a 5 quart jug. Hard to beat that.

Around me it just went down to $18.99! I use that and a Mobil 1 filter for $9.99.

It is good but for the money order some Amsoil. It is better oil and won't turn your engine purple.

You also can't go wrong with Royal Purple, if you have the $$.
I go to the dealership to get the factory oil filters and they are priced well at $5.00
a filter. That is 4 dollars less than the Mobil 1 filters. Also the filter includes a replacement seal for the drain plug. A +++++++
