my toy..... If I can I will keep this car and get the EVO depends how work and the economy are doing.

Get the regular IX new and enjoy it. I think the IX is the best made evo imo.

a new 35K+ car is not in the budget, we will see what next spring brings me. If business is going very well things might be different.

I like the IX front end a little better, but I know very little about the details on the EVO's. Which is why I am here, to learn the ins and outs.

At the end of the day I want a fairly fast dail driver that is very reliable. My subaru runs mid 13's (which is NOT fast) and is stone reliable (4 years no issues).

I am thinking a low 12 high 11 second car that can turn like its glued to the road. I don't want a drag car, but I like acceleration

I think any car can be a fun car as long as you enjoy driving it. Both cars you mentioned are good cars. You really should test drive them to see what fits your driving style best. Also look at the downside of owning both vehicles, not just the benefits from each car.
