Hi guys I already searched and came up empty handed so I'll ask. I'm looking at buying a second Evo and found a 2003 low mileage but it has a black valve cover. Its at a dealership and they say it hasn't had an engine swap. What do you guys think any info would be helpful.

 

guy def had the valve cover off for paint. big red flag, run away very fast.

Ive been wanting to paint mine black for awhile.Cant buildup the guts for reasons like above.....People might run when I go to sell her.

 

I'm in Colorado for work and I found the car online it doesn't appeared to be painted? What other 4g63 comes with a black valve cover? Is there any other signs that would let me know if the engine has been swaped. I know it has cams tbe intake and a tune. Anyone?

He had it powder coated when the cams were installed is my guess.

 

I actually spoke to the stealership again and the salesman contacted the origanal owner and he did have it powder coated. Thanks guys.
