MAF Sensor Orientation
Is the rotational orientation of the MAF sensor critical to engine performance? I have an older Perrin intake and the MAF sensor is rotated 90 degrees forward towards the front of the car instead of facing upwards towards the hood. I've noticed that most other intakes have the MAF sensor facing upwards.
My car has some minor stuttering issues at lower RPM levels and I am just wondering if this has attributed to the problem. I am still using the stock BOV. Thanks in advance!

Here is a pic from the Gruppe-S website showing the version I have. You can see how the MAF sensor is rotated.

I doubt it. My MAF is in a weird position due to my CAI, and I change the position of the pipe with the MAF on it all the time, and have never noticed any difference. As long as air is passing through it, then it's working right.
I could be wrong, just my $.02
