Wich Radiator to get

Hi, well here is the thing, My Evo has an Koyo Radiator, but this is the SECOND time i have a leak. I tried to had it weld but it can't do the place where it has break. I havent hit anything to make a hole and there no sign of any hit.

So i had to glue some silicon (sealer) and problem solve, but I am not happy with the result, Im thinking to buy a new one, so wich one should I get? another Koyo? do you think this problem was one of a kind? has anyone had it before?

please write some comments

btw, buying a new one its very expensive for me, cause other than the shipping inside the US, I have to pay to bring it here to Panama, so I have to be sure wich one to get

I have had nothing but positive results with Koyo's all alluminum racing radiators. Of course I only purchase mine through authorized dealers.

Koyo also produces a radiator that is an OEM replacement, which is not all alluminum. I have zero experience with those.

Are you sure yours is authentic? I would purchase another Koyo from a reputable dealer, or have yours repaired and pressure tested. Where is the leak coming from?

If you want you can try brazing the radiator with an aluminum brazing rod. I've used one myself to fix pin leaks in old car radiators i've beat to death. Its not very pretty or elegant but they are fast, cheap, and strong. They are expensive compared to typical welding rods but definitely cheaper and easier than getting a TIG

Only two companies i know that do this kind of easy fix rod:

http://www.aluminumrepair.com/
http://durafix.com/

Personally I'm using the hts2000 rod with a simple blow torch. Things I've "welded" where aluminum radiators, transmission casing, and even made a lil chop up custom piece for the family boat sealing off the old exhaust system for a through the haul exhaust system.

koyo makes a great product, i think the problem you had is just a random thing or maybe a sign of a knockoff

hey bro, ever heard of Bar's Leak Radiator sealant? i had a leak awhile back and there was no crack anywhere. (minor crack works too) just drain coolant, fill with bars leak with new coolant problem solved. try that first then if it still leaks get new radiator. so for no problem, just spend $3 for a bottle before spending lots $$$.
