Clutch tied to tranny warranty?

OK let me start with a little back story first. I bought my 06 IX with 1,000 miles on it (i think it was a demo car, hence the great deal we got on it) Anyways, less than 700miles of owning the car, my clutch assemb. went out. I had the car for like a week and a half, just breaking it in and getting used to it. I took it back to the dealership where I had bought it and that started the first battle. They tried to tell me blah blah I was racing whatever, the service manager refused to talk to any of us, he ignored all our phone calls and didn't show up when we came to the dealership.. They still had my car btw. So after talking to the district manager, he said THEY HAD to cover the assemb. fix (repair ~ $3,000) and apologized so much for that idiot ignoring us and taking so long to get it fixed.

A short while after, I noticed my 4th+5th gear were grinding, 4th especially bad, my mom who also drives the car noticed it too, but we decided the hassle with those ******s wasn't worth it. So we left it. Now the grind in 4th has gotten pretty bad...

Now.. I have about 11,800mi on the car (bought it in febuary) and i feel the clutch going on me..I know a part like this is wear and tear, but it is covered under the warranty, although they have ways of making it not covered. Would my best bet be go ahead and tie the clutch going out with the grinding gears making my vehicle ultimately difficult to drive. As I had read on here before.. Someone had their entire tranny built under warranty for 3-5th gears. I think my best arguement is taking the path of them selling us a defected car to begin with, the entire assembly going out before even 700 miles, gears grinding due to the hard testing the car had went through given it had 1,000 miles. I have all my paper work saved from work they have done, so they cant back out of anything.

Either way I know its going to be a battle, Im just trying to think up of a way to screw them more, I don't really want to go to the place I bought my car because it is notorious for *******s and clowns.. So I think Im gonna take it to one of the other 3 dealers in town and try and get them to fix both under warranty.

Good luck, howevr I think you could probably get them to fix the synchros.. maybe unless they see that your car has been abused (burned flywheel).

hah sports cars kinda run in the family so its expected lol! but yea.. Im just gonna go and see whats happens, try and tell em that because of 4th+5th causing me so much trouble.. going 10k on griding gears would cause premature wear to the clutch.. i mean i literally have to hold in the clutch and baby it into 4th just to get it in, or slam it in with a big *** grind. so yea we'll see, i'll let everyone know how it goes, that way maybe some people can use it for future reference.

they'll blame the clutch slipping on you this time

it could be your fault in reality and you can't prove it's not so you are beat

syncros should be replaced under warranty however...assuming the car is stock

Go in with the car stock, and complain of the syncro's. There is a TSB for them on other years, so you may get that covered. Don't mention the clutch. If they agree to repair, ask them to install aftermarket clutch while doing the tranny labor. This way you get most of the labor payed for, and is your best bet at getting anything covered.

little update.. My initial complaint was tranny, 3-5th gear are terrible. (we have on papers 4th gear has been slipping since they replaced my clutch assemb. @ 2,000 miles. but they never fixed it) I took the car in yesterday and paid the $600 for the removal of case clutch and flywheel. I get a call telling me yea they are bad and need to be replaced, lmao they were going to try and resurface the flywheel even tho it had dee grooves in it and i was like no, replace is you ****ers its under warranty. Then he goes well its another $200 for tear down of transmission and I said well fine, go ahead, but if you find something like a bent arm or anything else wrong in there, this obviously doesn't stem from me driving the car, the General Manager drove this car over 1,000 miles before we bought it, and like you said, you dont' drive an evo to drive like a grandma..SO it stems from him, and further more, if there is something wrong, then that is the indirect cause of the clutch burning out so quickly. im which I want fixed under warranty too. And had this all written on paper and printed out authorizing them to do the tear down.

When I first brought the car in, they were giving me the usual abuse blah blah guy was telling me how if he had an evo he wouldnt drive it like a grandma either, funny thing is, the car had 1000 miles on it and the general manager was the one who was driving it before we bought it, and when we fought for the clutch assem. to be replaced, OUT OF NOWHERE a mitsu, corp. representative came in an authorized the warranty work, and even they all admitted that usually NEVER happens. They are just covering up everything that was wrong with the ****in car when they sold it to us.

Either way they are gettin their **** pushed in, cuz i know something will be wrong with the trasmission and then i'll get my **** all warrantied except for the brakes they are jacking me for $1000..

Call the corporate office man. Here is the # 1-800-222-0037

They will hook you up. I had the service manager & the district manager deny coverage on a new wing. I called corporate, they said no. I called them again, and they surprisingly said yes. So I got a new wing. Worth a shot man, let us know what happens.

heh just got a call from out favorite service manager.. He calls and yup! Sure enough the arm from 3rd-4th was bent. First thing he says "Its not under warranty, but we do have another one at the dealership we are willing to fix it for free....and also we could see about giving you a deal on the brakes" LMFAO HAHAAH Assclown, I knew it was bent, and with that arm being bent, is making the other gears ****ing go bad, on top of literally having to hold my CLUTCH in while im driving just to get the damn thing into gear. Yea 10,000 miles on a bent tranny WILL make your clutch go out sooner than expected. and he is trying to cover his *** up by offering us a "free tranny fix, and a discount on brakes" lmfao hes just ****in praying my mom doesn't keep pressing him to fix the clutch now under warranty as a indirect result of the tranny, the tranny they didn't fix 8,000 miles ago when it was busted.

so im waiting for a call back, anyways mitsu is getting what they deserve and more.
