You shouldnt pay higher rates for something that's not your fault. If you had a car accident and it was your fault, then yeah your insurance would increase. Comprehensive claims dont usually raise rates at all.

don't jump on this recommendation. tinting out your windows could just make things worse. sometimes, thieves go for a car thats tinted out, because they know the owner tinted it for a purpose (to hide something, because they have $$$, etc.)

case in point - my civic was tinted, and somebody busted in (months ago), yanked my stereo and subwoofer. the tint didn't help. at all

This kind of stuff pi$$es me off. Kind of makes me want to sleep in the car while it's away from home. Just remember "what goes around comes around". They'll eventually get what's coming to them. But sorry for your loss...

Just wondering, what kind of alarm did you get?

I'm thinking I need to buy one now, we've gotten several warnings at my school about thefts DURING SCHOOL HOURS

And I'm living in a town that used to top the Car Theft Rate charts for three years.

Thanks, I'd also be very grateful if you could please post your impressions on it when you get it installed.

And if you have any other recommendations feel free to post them
