I am buying a evo 6.5 tme at the end of the week and i was wondering if anyone has any expierence with them my questions are
1 best way to register it ( i am planning on buying a 2000 mirge and swapping the #$%$@)
2 where do i get parts ( i was thinking just evo vendors but wondering who has stuff in stock)
3 is it going to be an issue driving a right hand vehicle in the states ( i dont thinks it illegal)

Like the others said, it will cost you your car if you get caught with switched VINs. There are a lot of steps required to legalize your car. I remember reading about this in Import Tuner about how companies have to go through all these different agencies with emissions crash testing and what not. Too much trouble if you ask me. GL.

I have some experience on importing and registering a gray market car as I used to own a Ford RS Cosworth. Bottom line is it is VERY VERY hard to get one legalized and registered and you should be willing to go through HELL with EPA and DOT. No joke here - you may think its black and white but its more like being lucky.
Good luck - there's a reason why most of the pre evo 8s don't get registered legally. Don't try to do it yourself - you need someone like sun-international.com to help you. Not sure if they're still doing this.

Uhhhh drool....one of my favorite non-american cars.
If it wasn't anything but a Tommi Makkinen Evo I would say stop being a ricer just for RHD but the TME is an AMAZING machine.
