Evo 9 MR Weight
Went to a truck stop to see what me evo would weigh in at. I was quite impressed to see that is was lighter then I expected. 3160LB with a quarter tank of gas. Spare, Jack, etc was in the car. No weight reduction was done.
I weighed in at 3075 in my MR at SCCA Nationals, but I now have a 5spd, have plenty of power/suspension mods that are lighter than stock, rims/tires HEAVIER than stock, no spare/jack/tools/rear speakers/rear seatbelts, and less than an 1/8th tank of gas. However, the other Evos were significantly lighter than mine.
In normal mode with all the regular stuff in the car minus the jack and tools, I used to weigh in at 3150 with a 1/4-tank and all the interior, which tells me that 3160 WITH the jack and tools, a heavier turbo, and a much heavier aftermarket FMIC doesn't add up.

I thought for sure that I would weigh in at 3300-3500. I am not sure if it is because the MR is lighter or if it is that the parts installed are lighter. Maybe a combo of both. Anyway for 8 bucks everyone should have it done. Make sure you only get on one of the scales. It is divided up into three. You will see what I mean if you go to one.

No, we all know the weights of Evos, and MRs are the 2nd heaviest of all with only the GSR w/SSL being heavier. Curb weight of the MR is 3285lbs, GSR is 3263, and RS is 3217, although many people have shown RS weights to be much lower.
Yes, your IC piping and exhaust are lighter than stock, but canceling out the weight of those heavier items is not the same as being much much lighter than stock.
You can weigh for free at many places - no need to pay $8 anywhere. Most tracks have scales to use...

I don't think that the AMS turbo is heavier then the stock. If so maybe by 10lbs. Cast manifolds are heavier in general the SS. Now the FMIC I would agree seemed quite a bit heavier. But nothing was removed and was really happy to see 3160 when I was expecting 3500. TX Motorplex last time charged me 20 dollars to weigh in my Greddy TT 350z.
