Strongly considering selling my Evo... Need advice
Kyoto's nice place, way to keep it west coast...(I am Kansai jin)
I kinda lean towards trying to finish the law school...that's a oppurtunity where not everyone can have...you can have cars, and girls really anytime. Education and your better future should come first because if I was you, I'd regret not finishing school of that caliber which you had a chance to attend. That really would open doors for you...making mega income and driving nicer cars and meeting some fine women, not to mention you can go to japan as a vacation pretty much anytime once you're an established lawyer.
I have a similar doubts as well. My families are all in Japan, and my wife's are in Taiwan, so I'm itching to go back, but I already have a career here, and it'll be very complicated if I decided to drop it all and go back...though I miss my families greatly.
Another things to consider, I just CANT stand how crowded Japan is. I love the feeling only for few days, and it gets REALLY OLD. And in general, it is expensive, even if you knew your way around...
Good luck, let me know what you decide...I'm based in Kobe, so I can take 30 min JR express and meet ya when I do go back(which I do once a year)

Akisan, thanks for your post.
I do understand your logic and of course I will much better off with a law degree. I thought like you right up until very recently until I realized that I don't want to spend the rest of my life working a job I will probably hate just so I can fund my hobbies/passions. I would rather spend my life in a way that I can incorporate these things into my work. If that means making less money, then that is something that I can accept. I really think all my years of studying Japanese will be wasted as well if I just stay in the States for 3 or 4 years. I'd rather use that time in Japan and maybe China/Taiwan (because I studied mandarin as well) to strengthen my language abilities and THEN go to law school. Or skip law school all together and find a job at a good company.
I personally never thought Kyoto was too crowded. I lived in an area called Shuugakuin and it was always very quiet. I loved it so much. I also lived off around 800 bucks a month, excluding rent. I thought that was very affordable.
I love Kobe so I'd be happy to go hit you up over there as well. Please keep in touch.

I'll Pm ya.
Sounds like you have your mind set, and that's good. I just suggest you don't half-*** it. With that mind set, you'll be happy and successful.
Good luck, I'll definitely keep in touch with you.
