My car has been overheating the past few days, so I decided to pull the thermostat today. I noticed it was cracked so I went down to Napa, Checker, PepBoys, and AutoZone to check and get a replacement. None of the stores had one that was the same size as the one in my car. (03 evo) I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is a dealership only part, or not? The one I have in it now looks like this one I found at lancershop.com...



Can anyone help me out and let me know where I can get the correct one for my car? I need to get the car back together asap, so I am going to try the dealership in the morning. thanks in advance!

 

I don't see why any of the shops did not have the part.Ive always found thermostats for my other cars at the local kragen.Have you tried stant?They make thermostats,gas caps etc.

 

if you really need to get the car running again you can drive around without it temprarly but i would not advise to drive in cold weather.. it will take a bit longer to warm up.. but you will be fine..

 

we don't have a stant store here...Does anyone else have a thermostat on their evo that is different from the one pictured ^^^? I'm just wondering if the one that they sold me will work or not???

An aftermarket thermostat may look a bit differently made but if it fits and does it's job it's all good.
