Evo Generation Confusion

So I understand that the V is 5 and the III would be 3

So that would be an Evo 8

But how can there be an evo 6 and 8 in 2006.

I'm kinda confused with this.

Can someone please clarify

THANKS!

Oh yeah, i'm new lol

I=1
V=5
X=10
L=50
C=100
D=500
M=1000

This is not really an evo only designation and being a noob has nothing to do with it. They are called Roman Numerals and can be found by less than a minute of searching in google.

as stated above there just roman numerals and as far as the evo designations go, VIII=8, IX=9 hence evo 8 and 9 if that helps at all

and i thought the dumbest question i had ever heard was when the MR came out and i was at the mitsu dealer taking a few pictures of it and picking up some replacement interior parts and a guy outside says to me...

"wow, your car is pretty nice, so what do you think of that Grey Evo Mister ?"

I guess he thought that MR stood for mister lol..... i had to shrug my shoulders to that one

no... if that was a possibility, it wouldnt of been funny.

If i could type with a tone of voice you'd understand. He definitely didnt imply that his question ended with Evo and mister was a title.... he saw the evo MR and thought oh, must be mister lol

I wasn't confused with the Numerals, I understand that.

I've seen people that have a 2005 evo8 or something then a 2005 evo 6.

How can this be?

nobody has a 2005 evo6. i dont know where you might have seen that but its just simply not possible. 03-05 was the 8( VIII), first generation to be sold in the US, ev9 (IX) is 2006 only.
