Shift Knob

I am looking for a good shift knob to help improve shifting for my car. I had never believe in a aftermarket shift knob until I got one for my integra.. Made a night and day difference, which I would love to improve on my evo. What is recommended?

The Greddy seems cheap, how about the works? Just as good? Not looking to spend alot. Thanks.

Heavier knob, the better shifting feel.

I don't agree. It does make the shifter feel better, but i think it gives you less feel. If your tranny is grinding or is slightly off, you won't feel it with the heavier knob. I've tried 5 different knobs. The heavy ones do feel good, you just don't get good feel. The lighter ones don't shift as easily but you can get a better feel for what the tranny is doing

I disagree. Having used alot of different knobs, the heavier ones make a huge difference. Shifting is a lot easier, smoother, and more precise with a heavier knob. I recommend the Greddy Counterweight, or more expensive TMW one for those looking! By the way, does anyone know if theres a lever extension made for the evo shift lever?

Who cares about the shift knob? If you want an improved shifting "feel" you're better off getting a short shifter and stiffer shifter base bushings. Thats what I did.

I upgraded to a B&M short throw shifter, Road/Race Engineering shifter bushings, and an EVO VIII "baseball" shift knob. Now I love how my DSM's gearbox feels.
