evo wants to die

evo wants to die

hey there.
i have garaged my evo for 3 whole months, havnt moved it a bit, and used other cars to go around. its an 05 Evo and have about 5100 miles on it. and today i noticed when i try to switch on the car, it wants to die and then it starts normally .. possibly Battery change so soon ?? .. or could it be something else ?

probably just a dead battery from sitting so long, try letting it run every now and then to keep it charged.

Even if you let the car run it won't fully charge the battery, it needs to be driven. The alternator doesn't put out a full charge at idle.

hey budy,, use a little common sence,, you need to drive the ca the least 1 mile at least once a week,, if you only run the engine for 5min... not good,, because youre internal part wont get properly lubed,, also you want to take them to the operating temp once in awhile,, you dont wana do the 5min thing and shut her off for weeks its not healthy on the internals

Also, if you're going to garage your car for that long of a time you might want to just disconnect the battery.

If you're going to lay the car up for a long time, change or top up your fluids, put some stabilizing fluid in the gas (top that up too), run it long enough to get it up to operating temperature for 20-30 minutes (to ensure any water or gasoline that has gotten into the oil has a chance to extracate itself), inflate the tires to their max, and put it on a trickle charger.

Or just run the kid for 30-45 minutes every couple weeks.
