Have you oiled it recently? The oil dried up on mine and it was surging pretty bad. Re-oiled it and it works great now.

Where would you oil it? I mean what area would you oil it? Mine does the same and I only have 4000 miles on the car. Wha do you mean when its too tight, what hoses would be too tight? I don't understand, I thought it has to be tight so it won't blow the tube off. More info for this problem is appreciated. Thanks!!

regarding the OP - One question comes to mind. You said you had changed evos... shouldn't you have noticed which way the BOV was pointing on that one?

Holy crap OP!!! It's backwards aren't you listening??? All you need to do is pull it off and reverse it. You have the release valve port hooked up to the intake. It's won't release that way. Stop listening to the fools telling you to oil it or telling you it's too tight. They truly don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground. Pull it off the reverse it, I promise all your problems will disapear. By looking at the picture you took you can clearly see it's BACKWARDS....

Compressor surge may sound cool but it has life threatening effects to the turbo.

Jesus chill out already. I was told it was backwards a few moments AFTER I made the post and I went to the garage, grabbed a tool and switched it around so it is all good. After that there were another handful of "backwards" posts before someone mentioned "oiling" it-whatever. You posted on page 3, get with it.

If you read the first post I mentioned that I had recently sold my previous owner therefor I could not switch the BOV's let alone look at it. However the car was bone stock and i had no reason or desire to examine the BOV. Now my current Evo was mildly modified so there are a few things I needed to address. The BOV being one of those things.
