HELP!!!! Are 4" core IC's a bit too ambitious ???

I recently bought a I.C. for my JDM 2006 IX MR, however I'm experiencing fitting issues with the bumper, the IC mounts perfectly but the bumper protrudes on the right side(where the fan is).

The specs are as follows:

4" thick
24" long core
12" high
3" inlet/outlet
31" total length

Has anyone here mounted this same specs on their Evo without any problems ???

Sound advice needed here and please dont tell to shave/cut my bumper...
THNX!!!

I have the same exact FM. I made a custom mounting plate for mine on top where those two sets of holes are that are tapped. I did have to cut away at my bumper support in the beginning but i just decided in the end to drop it all together less weight right. You crash your going to **** something up no matter if its there or not.

Just trim the crash beam a bit and you should be fine. ^ pm me about your ETS 4" fmic, as I think that I am about to pull the trigger on their kit.

I need to know the specs on you guys IC's especially the total width and also if anyone is using the InJen setup.
Also please note that the JDM front is slighty different from the USDM. The JDM doesnt carry a crash beam @ the front as this pic below indicates...

Ohh not **** i didnt know that so i guess your all set no matter if you go 4 or 6 or 8 for that matter lol.(exaggerating). Go with water to air thats my next investment. Ppl put it down but i just think principal alone should make it the superior system.

Im using the Injen UICP and had to have a custom bottom half of the UICP made up as it did not line up to the End Tank outlet

You have an Evo 8 so you're fine. He has a 9 which has a different bumper and is trying to fit the 4" core. I too am still looking for someone with a 9 front bumper with a 4" core as I'm thinking about making the switch but not sure if the 9 bumper would fit over my intercooler.

Just to clarify, I don't run a 4" intercooler on my EVO and I wasn't indicating that that is the basis for my fitment conclusions. These are the same 4" intercoolers that have been installed on many of our EVO IX customer cars. He's trying to fit a universal core, where ours is designed specifically as a bolt on for the EVO VII, VIII and IX. That is the difference and explains the fitment issues he's having due to core size, endtank design and inlet/outlet location and angle.
