Scan Tech help

I just installed scan tech. i can not connect to my car. i get a window that sais" run time error '52' bad file name or number" Someone please help me out. I have no idea what im doing wrong.

is your tactrix surely working?

Check the port the tactrix cable is connected at, you do this by going to your control panel, system, hardware, device manager, com port, and see the COM your cable is connected thru..

After that, you go to scantech and go to option and chose the Jeff Protocol option and then use the same COM port number you found out the tactrix is connected to..

Try and retry about a dozen times, then you should succeed to connect once..

Good luck, scantech has always been a pain to connect from my side!

everything is right. my cable is working for ecu flash. i get the same error every time. then scan tech just closes. do i need to put the vehicle information in?

yes. one more question why the Jeff Protocol instead of tactrix cables option. my tactrix is communicating with the ecu on ecuflash. It pluged into COM 4 on my computer and i selected the dame on the drop down box in scan tech.
