Mitsu Factory 6-CD changer
Mitsu Factory 6-CD changer
I bought the factory
6-CD changer with my car but it hasn't arrived yet and I was wondering if anyone else has seen it yet. I'm curious how it installs in relation to the stock stereo and also in relation to the factory sport gauges. I get the impression you can't have both (6-CD & gauges).

I have an OZ and the Changer goes under the factory head unit....from the Evo's I've seen in mags and stuff I don't see any place for the Changer and the gauges. My suggestion is mount the gauges on the a-pillar or but a gauge box and mount it on the dash....you know like those ones the the Skylines usually have. The dash is fairly flat.
Another option is mounting them on the steering column behind the wheel but out of the way of the gauge bezel....i've seen quite a few people with 2 of them plus a power FC installed. It looks pretty sick and its really ergonomic because the gauges are right there as opposed to having to look left or right to see them.
Final option is to mount the changer in the trunk on the floor of the trunk or strut housing material...That works too. Or you can do it under the passenger seat if you have room......in the glove compartment would probably work to, unless you're putting a boost controller and s-afc in there.
I hope this helps, and I'm sure you can use one or a few of these ideas to solve your problem

I have the cd changer in mine. You can either have the gauges or the changer installed underneath the factory head unit unless you get a little creative.

Pics of mine
I have it in mine too. Here's the pic. I really want the gauges and don't need the changer if somebody's interested in buying mine I'll take $250 for it (It's $489 from Mitsu)

6 disc
Mine came in my car. Your right about gauges or 6 disc, it's one or the other. I like the way bpclements put his head unit in the lower spot and the mitsu gauges in the upper slot.
