Please run your car with no filter just to hear your blow off valve more. I applaud your effort.

Run no air filter period? Sure you see the big guys at tracks do it however driving around the street what if a pebble gets into the intake? It would mangle the fins on the turbo...not smart. If something bad can happen then there is a great possibility it will.

Take the entire intake system off and then go ralli-racing. . . You'll almost double your power. . .
on a serious note though. . .Just put a K&N drop in air filter in and that will be good.

hey bro, I see you're looking for the blow-off sound. Trust me, keep your stock IX bov. Go out and buy yourself a "cone filter with MAF adapter", switch out your stock airbox with it, and you will hear what you are looking for...

Sorry if this comes across rude, but please don't be one of those damn people who hits boost just so that they can hear the BOV.

Most of us believe that a mildly modified Evo is perfectly happy with the stock airbox. A vast majority of us could care less about the sound a diverter valve makes and are more interested in making significant WHP than sounds. Running an internal combustion engine without an air filter invites particles into your engine. Particles increase wear and bigger particles can cause catostrophic damage to your turbo. Would you pour dirt in your engine? Also the Mass Air Flow Sensor (it's the black thing bolted to your airbox), doesnt like turbulance. It was designed to work with that airbox and a filter. Even alot of aftermarket intakes have trouble with the turbulance issue.
