stock ecu into another evo?

stock ecu into another evo?

im wondering if my buddys stock ecu will still run in my car.im parting my car back to stock and hes getting my AEM and hes gonna give me his ECU.will my car still start/run etc?im not sure on his year evo.if it can work what needs to be done?

im sure someone has used another ecu from another evo,my friend mentioned there may be a problem but were not sure.so if anyone knows please let me know,thanks

You will have to have it fixed at the dealer, I believe the ECU has to be matched to the code in your key.

just get the immobilizer # and program it into your ecu using a tatcrix cable or something. Each car came with its own immobilizer #, its actually on the bill of sale. Without this the ecu will not work on any other car.

ok im gonna call the dealer tomorrow and find out.now does it have to be sent off?they do it on the spot?thanks

+1 All thatr is needed is the imoobilizer code. In oreder to do it porperly reprogram the vin as well. Get his code first prior to installing then put it in your car and reprogram it. With all the correct equipment it should only take 30 minutes max.

well dont think many if any in hawaii have the cable..i talked to my tuner in cali and he said just mail it to him and he can take car of it...something like get rid of the immobilizer so it will work on any car..

if he needs info on the car what will he need?vin#?car number on bill of sale?thanks
