okay so i put on my TBE yesterday and it was from a 8, so i had to dent it to fit around the ACD unit. my question is the dp is against the ACD unit and i know these exhausts get hot. so do you think it could damage anything? do i have anything to worry about at all?

If you are trying to be on the safe side then you would simply buy a DP designed for your model car and maybe even heat wrap it like I did in my opinion. I too had a eight specific downpipe and although it didn't rub nor did i have to bend it, It was too close for my comfort. Many will say it's ok but to each his/her own. Heat destroys lubricating fluids/oil. I ended up selling my 8 downpipe to a eight owner. So I don't get flamed i simply wanted to share my opinion with you. Good Luck with YOUR decisons.


PS they say heat wrap accelerates the wear on the pipes that are wrapped but it's cheaper to replace a pipe than a ACD unit or engine for that matter.

 

my dp is already heat wrapped....
