evo jdm rear bumper
ive been looking into getting one, but im not sure how it would install. does it just sit on all the original stuff? all the metal brackets and the license plate thing too. does that all just swap over onto the jdm one?
do you mean the 8 or 9?
the 9 fits really well just have to take off the crash beam, drill out some pop rivits, do a little art project with license plate holder. i don't know anything about the 8 but i would bet you have to take off the crash beam for sure. everything else i don't know. here is a pic of the 9 fitment. hope this helps.

this one is the one i used. It was somewhat a pain in the butt, but man does it look sexy once its on. I had to do some muffler adjustments as it stuck out too far. also removing the crash bar is a must unless you order a jdm one. but check it out once i ran into problems i searched for this thread and it worked like a charm

My body shop installed mine with crash bar and everything. I printed out pictures off the SoCal page that talks about retaining the stock crash bar and they had no problem making it fit perfectly behind the bumper. I'll post pics on a more detailed thread next week.

i would just rather buy the jdm bar. what i thought was a 10 min job with just the bumper which turned into 3 hours due to muffler, license bracket and all them darn rivets makes me wanna go the lazy way with the bar.
but then again i prolly will never get one or modify the other one....but could be one of those bored at home again projects..........LOL

There are numerous posts on the topic of the JDM bumper (which I'm interested in) but I've read that there is a JDM crash bar and there are also posts saying that such a thing doesn't exist. I'm thinking about just modifying it like the socal link. Or there is some guy who had a piece custom fabricated and it looked pretty clean. I'm too lazy to search and attach the link but its in Show and Shine I think.
So to clarify, is there or isn't there a JDM crash beam? (Hoping for a definitive answer to this one)
