for $1000, the first thing i would work on is the suspension... not that it's bad stock... but it can be made better...

Not if you get an electronic bc that has a digital boost gauge built in. HKS EVC ...

If you haven't noticed by now, everyone has a different philosophy for tuning. Figure out what your goal is (ie handling, power, all-around, etc.) and then you can narrow your choices down. For example, you could just put it into suspension parts if autocrossing is your thing. Or you could spend it on a few power mods to bump up the HP. Or you could spend it on electronics to regulate your car manually. Or you could spend it on a variety to give a little balance. Just depends on what you want to do...

BTW, installing a turbo timer first is the smartest thing you could do. Yeah, why protect the turbo and do something dumb like put a turbo timer in???

Trust me, you will not get more power out of a boost controller than the Works reflash... I know this for a fact without going into grand detail. The average owner can't out drive the OE suspension (with proper alignment)... the only other way to better spend your $1000 is on race tires if you already have extra wheels and want to compete in stock class...

Listen to Zeus .... Although I experienced gains with electronic bc after elliminating boost taper, the car runs way too rich with stock ECU settings ... so running anything over stock boost without proper air/fuel adj refuses to translate into extra power since the car runs overly rich. If you go with a bc ... you need to lean air/fuel out a bit with a S-AFC, piggyback, or ECU reflash.

You won't have to cut any wires if you get the plug-in harness that we should have available soon (in limited quantities, unfortunately). C&D and SCC mag testing ran the Stage 0 cars at 13.0-13.2@105-107mph on 91 octane fuels in less-than-ideal conditions where the stock EVO was running close to 14s @ under 100mph.

Cheers,
shiv
