turbo timer as your first mod is kinda ridiculous, but to stay on topic, i'd say definitely get to work on the exhaust.

Manual Boost Controller, S-AFC, and Turbo back exhaust (if you can afford it) exhaust (otherwise a Cat Back) Those three items can vary from $900-$1300 and have the biggest initial impact on performance..

Doh! Good point.. The first thing I installed was a boost gauge before I started doing anything.. and learned what the car was doing (boost-wise) in different types of driving..
