The obvious solution would seem to be mandated testing for everyone over a certain age. The problem is that no lawmaker is willing to touch that subject. Old people vote much more than any other age group, passing legislation is tantamount to political suicide.

Good luck find a new car, it must be sad to see the Evo go in such a way...
i agree... it just sucks when grandma or grandpa tries to run you off the road unintentionally. Too bad the AARP would hang the politician that proposed mandatory testing at a certain age. Its going to happen sooner or later because its fact that as you get older, your vision and reaction time diminish

Glad to see you are ok!

Too many Evo's getting totaled over the last month or so. I've seen atleast 10 threads (here and elsewhere combined) about Evo's being totaled.

Most of them are from a driver error, but a few of them are fault of others. (like this one) It's a damn shame. :|

yeah- glad your ok, sounds like a pretty nasty bang-up job she did on you. When you get a chance, im sure wed all like to see how bad the damage was on the evo, if you have the stones to go see it all smashed up... and as far as the gas prices go, personally, i dont care how high the gas prices go, because we HAVE to buy it anyway, theres nothing we can do about it except ***** and moan, and all that does is gets you pissed, and wastes your breath. Post some pics. Good luck finding mods for the prius..

That's awful -- especially considering this was the Evo with the highest mileage. I can't believe the 180K Evo is done. The risk of being rear-ended like that worries me because it doesn't matter how careful you are, some 16 year old girl on a cell phone or a sleepy 80 year old woman doesnt look up quick enough and that's it, you're done.

Sorry to hear about this...I think you should considering buying a used Evo with the highest mileage on the market and try to re-gain your title.

Sorry to hear about the Evo...

Where did you hear about the 4 dollar a gallon thing? I'd like to read the source.

Glad your alright. Judging by the AMG comment I'm guessing he plans to sue her.

Seriously though on the Prius I understand you wanting a car that gets good mileage but, you can do better than that thing. Something like a VW TDI gets just as good maybe better mileage.

There is a new diesel VW Jetta coming out next year that is said to get 50-60 mpg.
