I know this may sound crazy but since the weather is changing i have noticed the same thing in the morning but my problem was the initial shifting into reverse. My fix has been after letting it warm up for a minute, i shift into other gears before throwing into reverse and have had no problems.

My brakepad are still fine with more than 20k on it. Are they suppose to make a noise when the pad is running low ?

^other than physical inspection, yeah.

when the pads are wearing and you hear that metal-to-metal squeak when braking, yeah, it's time to change them.

mine evo ix mr was the same way until i had about 10,000 miles on it...then it finally started shifting smoother......now i have about 20,000 on it and it's smooth as butta....just don't try to force it into gear.....this is the first car i've ever had that requires a break in for the gear shifting...lol
