Huge fuel decease?

Recently i've been getting really bad gas mileage... when i first bought the car and drove it down from MI to atlanta... i got 400 per tank... just lets you know how i drive... i understand that it was only highway and city makes a huge difference... but the 1st year in the city i was getting around 300-350 the least 300... I can basically count how many times I hit turbo in a month....but recently i'm been avg.. 180-200 babying the hell out of the car never hitting over 70 on the highway and like i said hitting boost like 5 days out of the month... any ideas on what it could be... the car just hit 22500...

I am stock and I am damn lucky to see 250 miles to a tank. I drive it as it is meant to be driven, but babying it I still get 250 miles- whatever, let the turbo spool, you'll respect yourself in the morning and so will she

Maybe you have mold growing in your car for pampering and preserving it too much

On a serious note, have you done any mods to your car? Or tampered with ecu?

While we're on this topic, what is everyone's average mileage per tank?

What is your driving technique?

When I baby the car this is how I drive:

Shifting at 2k - 2.2k rpms max and keeping cruising rpms between 1.5k - 2k rpm range.

So what is babying in your driving habbit?

Bad mpgs can be a result of a bad o2 sensors or anything restricting your car. Also check your tire pressure keep it about 34-36 psi for better MPG purposes.

Stock 2-step is 5000ish and 7900 is the redline for most tuned cars.

Defiently change your O2 sensors. Just buy the universal ones and wire them in cause the plug in ones costs 170-200+ dollars!!! I just did the rear O2 eliminator mod through the ECU and my gas mileage and fuel trims went right back where they used to. I average around 250-280 a tank (City driving) and shift around 3k and cruise around 2200-2500 rpms.

best i ever got was 300, but i average between 240-260, i drive it a couple times a week and rarely baby it, but when actually trying to save gas i dont let it go over 3000 rpms and keep it under 70 mph
