no wonder evo insurance is so much
its just a same as apartment rent.... would you rent 1 bedroom apatment in idaho for $1400 / month?
~120-130/month through Progressive (ugh)
~70/month for the motorcycle through State Farm
~200/month for wife's Taurus
Evo is expensive? You're kidding me, right?
It's all in the area you live in. In our area here, it's not looked at as a sports/race car. It's looked at as Japaneses crap. I had a 6cyl Camaro before this, that I was going to supercharge and build up (I liked the handling of the 6 better than 8), but it was ~190/month. I had an Explorer I had before this as well, it was also in the 170-190 range.
I was HAPPY when I found out how much the Evo was. Ontop of that, I have had multiple tickets (~5-9), though only 1 in the past 3 years (last year, kind of a dumb one), and one accident (not my fault, but Michigan is "NoFault" bull****")
To add to that, I think my insurance would also be alittle cheaper if Michigan didn't carry the NoFault bull**** that they carry.

Im 20 with and with full insurance my plan is 10k a year @ 836/month. No tickets in the evo either. But thats not to say other cars that i just have bad luck with cops and dont keep my mouth shut. And no matter what i do believe the last time i checked its the number 1 insured vehicle with the escalade 2nd and the srt 3rd.

I'm noticing a trend that the northeast seems to have the highest rates..
My rate isn't obscene, I have USAA and live on Long Island, its about $3000 a year to insure all of the cars. It has to do with the high rate of theft, high rate of accidents and other incidents/accidents involving these cars in the tri-state area. I'm almost willing to bet it will drop when I move.
What is worse is the car is insured as a recreational driven car, with very little mileage per year, as I have a daily driver.
Although its higher than some, its lower than others, I'm just surprised it costs whaat it does just because of the region I live in. I think it has to do with metro areas that have a reputation for cars like this and racing/accidents/theft reported
