Why does this have a vac. cap on it?

This is a pic of what I found last night when I pulled the MAF and cone Filter to change out the clutch line for the steel braided one. What is that white vacume cap on there for and what is that thing?

I just bought this 05' MR with allot of great mods from a guy that was on this forum.

TIA, Zach

That is your factory boost controller, and its prob capped off due to the previous owner setting up a aftermarket boost controller. Also on a side not you should upgrade to better clamps for your IC piping like some t-bolt clamps.

Cool,
the car has the Hallman MBC on it so that makes sense, why he bought the cockpit extention cable and never routed it through the firewall is a wonder.
Where is the best place to take it through the firewall?

I wondered about those clamps when I was tightening it all back up, I thought Rallart was Top of the Line? Are the hardpipes sub par as well?
I think the clamps we have at work have a stronger stainless worm drive than those things. Where can I procure some good strong clamps?

Is it possible to overtighten hose clamps? I know if the worm drive cover pops off and you strip it that is bad but other than that the tighter the better, right?

he prob didn't run it 'cause was lazy. I don't know how long the adjuster cable is, but there's a factory hole on the passenger side firewall.

RalliArt is definitely NOT cheap!! I don't know if they have the best power gains but i wouldn't swap it out unless you want to make some extra cash.

Other that stripping the worm drive clamps or destroying the silicone couplers, tighter is better. I haven't had the issue with the IC pipes popping off so i haven't spent the cash to get the T clamps

If the piping is beaded properly and you tighten the clamps with a 10mm wrench, they should hold fine. They mainly suck cause they tear up the silicone after taking them on and off so many times.

i am guessing the 05' already has MBC or EBC since it has some "Great mods". as said that is the stock boost solenoid. Both vacuum nipple is not necessary as i can see the previous owner was too lazy to put a cap on both nipple.

Looks like some kinda hack job, both of the nipples on the stock BCS should be capped, and that other line shouldn't even be there if you have a MBC. Looks like the other owner tried putting it back to stock and failed.
