They do sell aftermarket crossmembers that will clear most 3" downpipes. Unfortunately, megans aren't the only brands that are causing these rattles. But yeah, spacers might help, its just not bad on my car so I can deal with it.

turboxs catback i highly recommend. unfortunately i do not recommend turboxs downpipe as it can be problematic if installed carelessly. i have this downpipe on my current and it definetly has its good points too (like coming w/ wideband bung and turboxs o2 gasket to reduce that bottleneck). i say maybe latest version of helix DP would be what i would buy if i had to do it again on a third evo.

I had an EVO 2 on my old DSM. I like the tone they have. You are right, they are quiet at cruising. And have a respectable amount of sound at WOT.

For the DP and TP I was thinking of using Megan Racing products (value). Does anyone have any input about these components. I'm looking for a stealth sounding set-up, and I don't want to spend a fortune on a DP/TP.

not to knock on any of the parts you listed, but I work on quite a few evos, with several different exhaust combinations and I have noticed you get the best performance and fit from using a whole exhaust by one company, I.E. Using a helix down pipe, Ultimate racing test pipe, and a HKS cat back this blue evo IX has a fitment issue where the resonated part of the HKS cat back hits part of the drive shaft joint. But another Silver Evo with the full HKS exhaust has no fitment issues. There are realy two evos with these same exhaust setups and the blue one has this problem. I personaly bought the AMS turbo-back and have absolutely no fitment issues. I heard the Buschur Racing exhaust makes the most power. So if possible I would go with the Buschur or AMS, I went with the AMS because I like its build better. The HKS sounds realy good and its a bit quieter than the AMS or Buschur, I don't mind loud though. AMS and Buschur tailor parts to the Evo, they put a lot more R&D into it than a company like HKS or GReddy that serves many makes and models.

I used the Helix DP, Megan TP, and Greddy SP2 catback when I had the stock turbo. When compared to the Evo 2, the SP2 is a tad quieter. At idle, you could here my fuel pump over the exhaust from outside the car.

Full Megan TBE here...I replied in a different thread about it already so this reply'll be a bit more brief I love it. Very high quality - especially for the price - perfect fitment, and amazing sound. You'll need to put in a few small spacers in the bolts for the front crossbar, otherwise the DP will rattle a little, but that's not exclusive to the Megan unit. It has a nice rumble at idle and is fairly tame around town, but it just opens up and screams at the higher revs. Highly recommended.

I'm going to tell you to search... but do an advanced search of "Megan" with "Zeus" as the user. Whether you buy anything from me or not, you will come across many customer reviews of the product. Or, just what you want...

ebay. $260 shipped for true 3" no kneck downs, dp, test pipe & cat-back. Hella good deal. Fitment is excellent & quality is great. Performs just as good as Bushcur/AMS. Search for yourself

I recommend the Buschur Racing w/ Magnaflow, it is super light and has a quiet idle and driving speeds but over 3K at WOT this thing screams plus the BR exhausts are proven to make great power.
