Will my clutch void my warranty?
It'll certainly complicate any drivetrain-related warranty claim, but obviously shouldn't impact any sort of non-drivetrain claim. The problem is, depending on the stealership, they can claim it's totally void by any sort of aftermarket part.
Try to become as informed as you can. Read the Magnuson-Moss warranty act. It's ILLEGAL for any car manufacturer to simply void your warranty because you've added aftermarket parts. The responsibility is on the manfacturer/dealership to PROVE that the part(s) you've added directly caused a different part(s) to fail.

Don't let the stealership tell you that your warranty is automatically voided. Just tell them you know the Magnuson-Moss warranty act and they'll usually back down. If they don't back down, remind them that the burden of proof lies with them and they'll have to prove in a court of law that the modified part directly caused the failure.
Don't listen to these other guys. They either don't know the law, or didn't fight hard enough at the dealership for a warranty claim.

as said above: if you go in for a claim on the transmission, transfercase, front/rear differentials, or axles your repair will not be covered (nor should it be).
if you go in for a problem with the lights or suspension you shouldn't have a problem.

They can really only void a claim if the clutch caused a specific problem. But simce most of the dealers are dicks they can give you a hard time if they know its in there. For sure dont tell them sh*t. I kind of comes down to if the dealer whats to bust your b*lls. I work for a company that mods BMW's and I deal with that problem a lot.
If you're really that concerned, do what I did, have your attorney review the terms of your warranty before you modify your car, then you'll know exactly where you stand rather than relying on hear-say. Nothing in the Mitsubishi warranty gives them the right to void it unless you abuse it or neglect it, then they have a leg to stand on, but they cannot void any part of your warranty just because you added a non OEM part. You do however need to be able to show that you have maintained the vehicle properly. The burden of proof is on them and they must document it in writing before they can legally deny a warranty claim. This is not to say that they don't or won't attempt to deny warranty coverage based purely on something they don't like, as I'm sure they do it all the time. They"tried" it with me but failed, and my car had lumpy cams, full exhaust, coil overs, BR intake, MBC,etc. I new my rights, I knew the item that failed was due to a deficiency in design(not from my abusing it) and I had an attorney willing to get involved if needed, and they knew it. Needless to say, they promptly replaced all 4 of my brake calipers on my 05, in addition to 3 other items.
