there is a thread here on evoM with an attachment from .... ill try to find it and post but it says all the "noises" you might hear in an evo... very helpful... it does make MANY noises... just get used to them, lol, turn up the radio...

if its a decel you are hearing the noise around 1st, 2nd, 3rd, its normal... from 5k to about 2500... its a muffeled grinding noise... its normal.

do a search for whine/noise... lots of good people saying good things...

people always get paranoid with the evo noises ( i was one of them) because peoples stories with transmission problems ect...
yes its normal for the evo to make some faint wierd noises. Dont stress yourself out to much but defenitley try to figure out some.
I had a high pitch wine from the belt area--I put belt spray lube on and no problem now.
I had a grinding noise/feel when making a sharp turn at low speeds.---I replaced fluids and no problems now

My evo started making a tranny whine at 20k miles and i've heard of mitsu's having that noise, cause it's not really a problem....so you'll be fine, you'll more than likely know when somethings wrong with an evo....in other words, you can tell

mine makes funny noises too.. I was just as worried as you were.. the tranny whines in first and part of second.. the car is not for comfort.. it just gives you a good connected with the road feeling.. my throw out bearing has rattled since new when the a/c is on.. when its off its fine.

like someone said earlier.. its just a bit raw and rough..

Everything u posted is NORMAL. The wheel bearing noise is the drive train. Whining noise is the T-CASE. If you get clicking on cold starts that seems to be NORMAL also.

Most if not all of the noises described are normal to an Evo...

You have an RS? Yeah there's all kinds of weird noises and moreso than the other trims. You get used to it.

Agreed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe all Evo's have that whine from the factory. I actually like the sound it makes--call it the mechinical AWD whine that spells defeat for all driver's who try to mess.

Its white RS in connecticut, if you looking for an RS dont even think of looking on this one. I am tring to get a SE on wendsday but I am affraid that the car is not paid off and how I am going to do this I am not sure. But thanks again, makes me feel alot better now.
