Unhappy HELP! Major Acceleration issues!

Hello friends. I need your help. I'm having some serious acceleration problems with my 03 Evo. Here's the deal. I have an 03 Evo with 71,000 miles on it. The only upgrades I've ever performed were an HKS downpipe and Apex intake. I've never had a single problem with this car until now.
Whenever I push the pedal down for acceleration in any gear and at any RPM.....my engine makes an acceleration "whining sound" and my RPM's will jump up about 500RPM with no acceleration....they will then drop down those "extra" 500 RPM, and then my turbo kicks in and I pull ahead. It almost seems like the engine is trying to take off before the turbo does. Whenever I push it hard like this through a couple of gears; it smells like I'm getting a clutch burn or something.
I've taken it to Mitsubishi and had them look at it. I have had all of my up to date maintenance done to the car. They plugged it up to a computer and took it for a drive. They come back and tell me that nothing was shown to be wrong...or no codes were being thrown. They say they can feel the extra "lag" when they accelerate in every gear; but they don't know what it is. I thought it might be the clutch as I've never had to replace it; but the Evo tech. there said that it feels strong and thats not what it is.
If anyone has any ideas, please help. I'm attempting to figure out what it is I need to fix without letting Mitsubishi charge me all day to figure it out. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

So you wasted your first 2 posts by posting the same thing twice? Your clutch is gone.

1) 71k and you don't know to expect the clutch?
2) You posted this twice without doing a single minute of searching, which would have told you it was a slipping clutch?
3) How in the @Q#$!#@$!#@ could any mechanic possibly not realize this was a slipping clutch? That's damn near impossible.

I appreciate the replies friends. I assumed that it was possibly the clutch......I just wasn't sure when the Evo techs themselves drove it and said the clutch was in good condition. I will take it somewhere else. Thanks.
