Odd Autometer delay...

I just put the Sport-Comp II's (mechanical for those wondering) and Im no n00b when it comes to turbo cars...

But this boost gauge is a weird one.....

At idle, if I give it full throttle, usually it would hit zero and begin to spool, at least on my last boost gauge it did... So this one stop at -10 in vacuum and then would go over and continue to boost.

My next concern is the boost gauge just seems alittle slow. Its reading accurately, sits at perfect vacuum in idle, hits 22psi and tapers to 20psi by redline, but it just seems slow reacting to get there. There are no boost leaks as I was already running 22psi before and the idle is still perfect.

Also, if I go off the 2step, it creeps to over 15psi. 2step is 6k when it got flashed, it also seems to flood the car if it creeps to high, then runs like a wrx for a couple of seconds.

This is a stock turbo IX, TBE, AMS LICP, Forge MBC, Walbro 255, ETS Intake (added and not tuned). Any ideas?

So wait, let me get this straight.......its stopping at -10 vacuum THEN beginning to spool?

There were two spots on the plumbing I spliced my boost gauge in-one was by the valve cover, and I got the full range of motion, vacuum and pos pressure.

Then I ran it in line with the MBC and only got positive pressure.....

Something is suspect in how you have it plumbed, just go back and check it step by step.

If you can't find anything there, take a look at the gauge itself.

If you can get your hands on another temporarily, hook it up and check that to see if it does the same thing.

Anyone else? I can't think of anything else with the gauge.

Autometer's are known for being a little off for some reason. Ive got sport comp II's, and I love em, and myboost gauge doesnt go all the way to 0, when out of gear, and just reving..

that doesnt help much, but ide go out, and see what your max boost is, and log it and compare.

The gauge itself is fine, today I was running 22psi dropping to 20psi by redline, gets perfect idle. I guess the free revving and not hitting zero is just an autometer thing.

I dont know why, but im overboosting on my 2step, I guess it might be the drastic temperature change from 80 degrees to 30 degrees....
