so it is cold again here in il. This is my second winter here and the ticking started again. My car ticks on acceleration only, the noise comes from the left side of the car, it is not coming from the engine. If any one has any clues on what it could be let me know. FYI it only happens in gear, i can't recreate it with the hood up and in neutral.HELP!!!!

 

Well if it only happens in 2nd that tells me it is the tranny, but to only hear it when its cold sounds crazy but still possible. Have you changed the trans fluid to see if it affects the noise at all? Just a thought off the top of my head, I hate little things like this as well.
