i luv evo, sti am still big fan of as well. has character.

 

HAD an STi now want to try an Evo. Both are fantastic cars..
Congrats to the original poster who will have more evos/stis then all of us.

 

i would have to agree and say the evo blows away the sti except daily driving thats the one thing i miss about my 05 sti . but with that said i would still pick the evo anyday of the week.

 

I was having difficulty finding an EVO that I wanted so I drove and almost purchased an 07 STI..... Then found my toy... I own a 06 EVO IX now with 400 hp (crank) and I love this car a LOT more than the STI. I felt cramped in the STI... I would have to say I think the handling is similar and HP is similar (stock)... I do like the Sound of the boxer motor more though...

mee too lads, had a 06 sti that i traded to get my 06 evo 9 mr.

 

The red one actually came with grey bbs too...so I have 8 bbs dark grey wheels right now

 

same thing i did.....
i seriously could not deal with staring at that goofy hood scoop in the sti at all

my brother has an 07 STi and that thing pulls very well with the new gearing...they are awesome cars...he went head to head with and IX MR (both stock) from a second gear roll and he had a half a car on the Evo til they cut it down at the end of third...STI's are very nice cars

 

this seems like a good place for my first post here....

i was a subaru tech for about 2 years and have driven countless WRX's (including my own 06 wrx tr) and STi's, both stock and modded. i absolutely love the car, except for one thing. it has as much body roll as my 01 ford focus did in stock form. personally, thats my biggest gripe of all. i love the interior, i love the motor and i love the STi 6spd tranny. but the handling is difficult (at best) in stock form. start tweaking it, and its a new ball game.

as for the Evo, again i have driven stock and modded. honestly, i dont really have anything to complain about. who can complain about a nearly bulletproof motor, smooth tranny (5 or 6 spd), and a very comfy interior? i dont think anyone in their right mind.

so my final decision? ill take one of each.

I like Evos of course, but I must say I do like the Sti's gauge panel and interior... I feel like I should get an sti just to say that I owned both. But probly wont, because Im not really a big fan of the rear, so evo ftw
