The problem is you won't know the CC is a fake for 3 or 4 weeks.

Think about it. Why do you think nearly every business in the world that does deals like this requires wire transfer and every scammer offers to send you a CC? There's nothing safe or secure about a CC.

With the wire, it's very simple, no money in your account, no car. Maybe a banker can give some input about the posibility to scam with a wire, but I can guaranty it is much easier with a CC.

Bank wire is the safest way to go.

The guy who bought my 2003 Cobra sold it to someone overseas. I accepted a wire transfer and he had a transport company come get it.

It is not an unusual request.

Just take that $25,000 check down to the Piggly Wiggly and cash that bad boy.

Yea, not to hard to tell who's never dealt with anything like this. You can't even cash it at your own bank unless you have the $25k on deposit to cover it.

You're much better off with a wire.
YES! And you would be %100 responsible if the check doesnt clear, your bank would not cover anything........you would even owe your bank a processing fee. This is a commom scam on Ebay, if you look around in Ebays forums and read the small print when listing a car you will see what I mean.
