Anti-lag ports on the manifold flow exhaust gasses back into the intake to help keep the turbo spooled. US emmissions doesn't allow it here which is why you only see that on JDM and european EVO's.

So you mean to tell me that some of that HOT exhaust gas is being routed back into the intake? Won't that increase the air temp going inside the cylinders making it more prone to knock?

EDIT: Looks like I was a bit confused.

Most aftermarket anti lag systems sends unburnt fuel into the combustion chamer but doesn't ignite. I believe this system injects fuel directly into the manifold but I might be mistaken.

Anyone care to take a stab at identifying the UICP pictured above? That's an HKS silicone coupler. So, do you think that the UICP would be HKS as well?? Or, Duh, is it a stock IX UICP?

Looks like the same uicp that all those FQ models use. Been wondering what that was for almost a year now! Also, the metal piping looks like egr piping to me.

Naw, not EGR plumbing, but rather that is the ALS(anti-lag system) piping. It connects to that gizmo(?) over near the TB inlet coupler that looks like a 2nd diverter valve from whence it connects to the underside of the UICP.

I'd sell you the one off my JDM RS but it's fairly involved as there is some sort of control valve(visible near the TB coupler), a different( than USDM) UICP, the articulated piping and the tapped exhaust manifold as well as an additional vacuum port on the TB.

Ok, according to the above site with an anti lag system timing is retarded, and a lot of fuel is dumped into the in the cylinder as if you were WOT. And with the spark plugs firing closer to the exhaust valves opening, the explosion escapes to the exhaust manifold with unburnt fuel.

(My guess)
I am assuming that the piping is sort of like a recirculating bov. It takes the pressure from the pressur pipes, and directs it into the exhaust manifold. This in turn aids in burning the excess fuel right before the exhaust turbine to keep the turbo spooled.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

If you're serious, it's a mount point for an engine hoist to pull the engine out. If you're not serious then I really don't understand your humor
