which one?

so im looking into getting some cams now i was thinking about cosworth 272 or HKS 272 IX MIVEC cams. Also looking for somewhat a good realiablitiy cause it is my DD which one would you go with hands down. If there any other cams you want to include go rite ahead thanks guys

I think people with IX's are having good luck with GSC's, so they may be ones to look into as well.

I have heard ALOT of great things about the HKS as daily driver cams. They work very well with stockinternals i have heard as well.

i would say go with the GSC cams bcuz the 2 u chose will require valve springs/retainers to prevent valve float at high rpm. u will also want a cam gear on the exhaust side to take advantage of that cam. tuning of course is mandatory...

PM Works to confirm this. even if u don't need to, it would be a worthwhile option safetywise + if the cams u choose don't work out, u won't be limited on cams bcuz of the lack of an uprated valvetrain.

me personally b4 i do cams, i would do the following:

valve guides
retainers
valve springs
cam gears
timing belt (stronger than oem)
head studs
TUNE

and u can also consider these cams as well from JUN:

i like my HKS 272s. i went HKS everything, timing belt, cams, cam gears.... did -3 on the intake cam and the beast rides out now.. but you have a IX so u cant do the intake....
