Why are some people so flaky???!!

Sorry for venting but Im sure some of you may have experience the same thing in the past.

So here is my story, Im trying to sell these set of wheels I have on the for sale forum. I get PMs here and there. It's all good until some leads me on that they will buy it and never goes through.

Tonite was something special. I had an email asking me to give them a call so I called. I spoke to the person and we agreed that Ill be around her neighborhood around 1030-11pm. I told her it's gonna be a little later becuase I have to drive 30 mins to my parents house to get the wheels and then drive another 40 mins to get to her. I was even willing to drive it to her house.

So around 945pm I called her to find out if it's ok to come by a little early... no response. I figured I start drive since I still have a long way to go. Around 1015, I called again... same result, no pick up and just voice mail.

So I detoured towards my house and I called for the last time around 1030 and nothing again. At that point, I gave up and called it a night.

I just dont understand my some people never follow through with their words.

if people want something bad enough, they will come to you. (make them) -or ship. It stinks, but in the long run, you will weed out the non serious buyers.

In the end perseverance pays off. I would'nt get too frustrated about it. Seems pretty annoying though. You can always hope there was a logical explanation.

generally speaking, it's a lack of respect for others. It's all about me, me, me these days it seems.

Thanks everyone. Yeah, Im just gonna shake it off and forget about it. Im not gonna loose sleep over it. It just frustrating that I wasted my free time in doing this.

It's a lesson to be learned for me now. I just dont feel that people respect other people enough. It's not all about buyers getting scammed these days, seller has to be careful as well.

Next time I get someone interested.. they will come to meet me at my location and time.

not to keep dredging this topic through the kitty litter, but something to keep in mind also is the sellers personal safety- rarely will a crook come to your turf to rip you off- they want you on their terms. Be safe, and carry a big gun. JJ

That's just how people are. Not everyone, but a lot of them. Don't go out of your way too much to try and sell stuff...............unless it's your job. Just do your best to make the item look good (clean it, etc....), and it will eventually sell itself.

I know what you mean I have come across this before myself. I seem to go out of my way no matter what. I gave away a IX front bumper but I dealt with the whole deal like I was making money. Some people or just like that.

Bro,

you are the seller here.....if the buyer wants to buy your wheels make them come to you to see the wheels....dont waste your time, money or gas bringing the wheels to the buyer unless you already "know them"

This is how it is for internet sales most of the time, people are flaky....and need to put their money where there mouth is....

another suggestion I have for you is to leave that person some negative feedback, if you know their user names that is.....

example: I once dealt with a guy who bought a few parts from me. From the time I met him he was shady and flaky... I had to call him and chase him down for my parts and my money......luckily the only thing I ever lost on the ***** was $20 that he was supposed to pay for for a MBC.....

Guess what I left him "-" feedback..... and to my surprise, he scammed a few people too, so in the end he must have had at least a -4 feedback score lol

I also wanted to add that if you are not comfortable with the buyer coming to your house to look at the parts, you can arrange to meet somewhere mutually convenient, like in a mall parking lot, supermarket parking lot or whatever, where there is a lot of foot traffic so that it'll be safe for you as well to complete the transaction

Ya u know peeps are always flakes. Ive sold alot of cars+car-parts in my day. And u just never know.

Last car I sold was funny. Guy called and said he was gona meet me at so-and-so location. Never showed up at all or called. Next day I called him just for the hell of it, didnt even think he would pick up his phone with my number showing. The dood ended up comming to my work, and bought the car at first sight that day with 13k cash in his hand. U just never know.

I think the longer someone has to think about buying something, more often then not, they will back out of it.
