Future owner thread....
I have no clue if there was a thread prior to this but I wanted to make one for those in my situation.....
I am looking at buying an EVO VIII 03-05 gsr, MR, or SE
For those with an EVO already, are mainly my direct questions are towards.
**reason for thread: to look at mileage problems often occur at are very helpful when looking how you should treat the buying process. where you can make sure the maintenance was done before you buy or try to lower the price more due to those facts!
The transmission seem to be weak from MANY threads I've read about the EVO atleast the early EVO viii's. True or False?
For those with many miles, what problems can you incur that are often in the EVO world and at certain miles?
What are other common issues with the EVO besides the fact it cost almost 1000 for clutch purchase + install?
How is the handling in the snow? Is the suspension (stock) setup for the gsr,MR, or SE different? **MAIN REASON FOR A RUSH TO BUY**
BAD and GOOD experiences are welcomed!

i have 68k on my 03. The big matience is at 60k. Timing belt, tensinor, accesory belts, water pump is optianal but since ure in there it only makes sence to replace it. Its hard buying a used car and its luck of the draw most of the time cause you can never really tell how well the previous owners take car of it. If you do buy one make sure you change all teh fluids it. Check for transfer case whine when going for test drives. I have never had any tranny problems other then it being a little notchy when its cold. good luck
