Big turbo daily driver owners mileage question

I was hoping to hear from people with 35R's specifically but has anyone put a bunch of miles on their stock block while running a big turbo? Just curious if anyone has had any issues. About to put a kit on my car and its my daily driver just seeing what people are experiencing.

You will be fine, just make sure you have a good conservative tune.

i currently have 65+k miles, on my 35R, been running it since 55k miles. Had a recent stream of storms roll through, and the only thing was water getting into the intake, and spitting some white smoke. Cleaned out the pipes, and no more smoke. Good to Go. Full spool at about 4-4200rpm stock bottom .

I noticed your signature only had your stock numbers, just curious how much power you're making now?

I would imagine, for a DD, you're not driving around at full boost on the way to work or all the time. Driving civilized everyday shouldn't be any different on a 35r than stock. But i'm glad you posted this b/c i'm looking to go that route too...

If you think about it, you won't be in the boost all that much as a DD since the 35r takes alot longer to spool up than the stock turbo. So i don't see any issues.

+1 you should get around the same gas mileage if you don't boost like crazy

I have the AMS GT35r... 497awhp... I averaged about 16-24mpg... it all depends on how I drove (70% city/30% highway).

if you are worried about gas mileage you shouldn't be driving an EVO, let alone a modified one

Thats were I'm at on the stock turbo (VIII) with AFR's 12.0:1 (meth injected)
I am always on the boost though. (17mi to work and always late out of the door but never to the clock) lol
With my 35R subie, averaged 24mpg on a trip to AZ, Cruise controled at 70mph.
BUT, driving around town and getting on the boost, I only get about 11mpg.

OH, BTW, you can always make a map tuned for fuel efficiancy by creating a lean fuel curve, and staying conservative on the timing/boost side. May not make the most power that way but will be more friendly for mpg.
