Is it the Wing that people keyed Evo?
I honestly don't care if folks want a wing or not. I'm not going to talk smack about wings or turn this into some sort of wing vs no wing fight... it's not.
I would however say to those who think that not having a wing is gay to consider that I am actually man enough to not need to advertise what I'm packing. When I drop the hammer the results speak for themselves.

I like the fact that my RS is wingless. I like the fact that I have yet to be pulled over once, not once (knock on wood) in the whole time I have owned the car and hardly get a second look.
Wings are nice for downforce if you need it and a whole lot of unwanted attention otherwise.

I don't think the wing gets you pulled over.....I think its the jackasses driving the car with the big wing that gets them pulled over. I don't always believe how innocent everyone is on this board when they wreck, get pulled over, or blow up there car. Seems to never be there fault.....riiiiiight.

I was pulled over for 55 in a 35....late for work, country road didn't expect a cop. He let me go with a warning and said drive carefully sir.
Plus a cop can be a ***** if he wants to be so thats always a reason but wing or no wing I doubt it makes that big of a difference when it comes to anything happening to your car....pulled over. keyed, etc.
Actually flashy boy racer looking cars do get pulled over more often. They get attention and often sound the part as well (which mine sure does if I'm on it). This adds up to a higher risk of talking to Mr Law.
I don't mind talking to cops, I see them at my work constantly and as such have built a pretty good relationship with local, county and state police here close to my home. By in large they are very good folks who do a job that is much more complicated than many folks give them credit for. In short, if your cool with them, they are likely to be cool with you.
One thing I have found, and they will tell you if you ask them while not guarded or in a working frame of mind is that they will pull over cars on a bit of a whim. They work off instinct and context clues the same as many of us in our day to day jobs. This means cars that fit a certain profile are more likely to draw such attention.

No wing would probably help in not getting keyed.....but now it doesn't look as cool, the wing is functional, and if you ever try to sell your car, you'll lose market value unless you put it back on.
