Is it the Wing that people keyed Evo?

I'm wondering.... is it because of the sporty wing that caught idiot's attention to keyed Evo? I'm thinking about getting a rear CF trunk to keep the profile low. What do you guys think?

I also think the big wing has alot to do with with. Like you im also considering a CF trunk, but I could not live with my self owning an evo with no wing. Its just not the same.

I like the fact that my RS is wingless. I like the fact that I have yet to be pulled over once, not once (knock on wood) in the whole time I have owned the car and hardly get a second look.

Wings are nice for downforce if you need it and a whole lot of unwanted attention otherwise.

Yes I'm sure it brings more unwanted attention but it's up to you if you think going wingless brings more positives than negatives. I bought my car wingless and hated it without a wing. I had to put buy a OEM wing back on the car to feel happy. It was doing my head in seeing the car without it's wing. In my opinion the Evo is simply not an Evo without a wing.

I have been playing with the idea of wingless just to see how I like it. I think that it definately brings alot of attention to the car. For example this morning an srt4 trying to play with me at 9am geesh its too early for that crap early in the morning.

Yes it does serve a purpose for down force and stability when your hauling a$$ but who really drives over 100mph on a daily basis, I sure dont. Best idea is to just take it off and see how you like it without it.

BTW wingless is not gay it looks good on some cars and others it doesnt. I have seen alot wingless that look funny and others that would look funny if it had a wing.

took my off for about a month, i loved it then i missed my wing and put it back on. See it as a free mod, car looks diff for a while and when u miss it slap it back on. Consider maybe the rexpeed low-profile spoiler which covers the factory holes and lays nearly flat on the trunk

I agree with you guys that an Evo w/out its wing doesn't seem to be an Evo. I love mine with wings too but I just don't want too much unwanted attentions. I would say having the second trunk would make it easy to put it on and take it off when needed. I haven't take my wing off yet due to weather isn't permitting me and I don't really have that much of time now. Anyways, thanks for your ideas!

^ say that to most people with the RS and they will probably say the opposite. There is a bazillion posts about people looking for a wingless trunk.
