What is this rear o2 mod you speak of???

+1 Because I could never gain access to o2 sensor properties via ecuflash; turning off warning codes etc.

Tune it.
By leaning out the fuel trims and new timing maps, my MPG went up a LOT. I went from averaging 15-17 MPG to around 23-24. That was just with a base tune via Eflash.

I just got my Evo filled up yesterday and did my MPG calculation. Took the number of miles driven and divided by the number of gas that I used.... comes out to 19.8mpg. Not too bad. I just drive it to work like 7 miles one way and around town. Light on gas paddle. I would like to floor it but it's not really worth the cops to be at the right place at the right time... I guess I'll have my days when it comes to summer. Maybe I'll take it to Road America circuit if I can. Anyways, Good Luck on your situation

On the highway I see 26mpg.

The ECUFLash rear O2 hack disables the CEL for the rear O2. You won't need spark plug foulers to run catless. If you have a CEL due to the rear O2 the car is probably dumping in extra fuel.

Checking the cruise AFR with a wideband would be the first thing to check.

Something as simply as a failed fuel pressure regulator can dick up your MPG.

my guess would be that the front o2 sensor is on the way out... when mine failed my MPG was horrible until replaced.

Alls I would say is if you leased the car and do anything to it modification wise be prepared to never take it the dealer or be ready to sell it before the lease is over if you don't plan on buying yourself after the lease.......Whoever the lease is with now owns that car and leases are not friendly for modding........and by modding I mean anything that is not a mitsubishi part

I would think if the car was undriveable and still under warranty if the dealer couldn't fix it you'd have a legitimate case to cancel the lease...but I am fairly sure you couldn't get out it w/o penalty just becuase the gas mileage is BuBitty
