Have you recently done any mods to your car?

 

Mine does this. I think it's a fuel problem. Exactly the same scenario. I've had this happen a few times 3rd and 5th giving it juice approaching 5k on the rev counter it's like you hit a rev limiter and bang the power is gone. The service light comes on and stays on. Eventually it goes off. My thoughts are its a fuel cut. I'm running an Exede.
