Dropin or short ram?
Dropin or short ram?
Works has a drop in that looks nice but cobb tuning i know has a good rep and for the same price I could get their short ram that says does mess things up like other short rams. What do you guys think?
Theres a million threads on this if you did a search... but with stock turbo you are better off with drop-in... and you will only loose power with a ram-air intake without being tuned for it. try the search button, you will find all the answers you need

The parts on the evo were not designed for just performance, but to pass all the regulations tests.
True but you are comparing two different products and one has a lot more function than the other. This topic can be beat to death but you shouldn't have to retune for an intake if the MAF can measure air correctly. In the earlier EVO days you will notice different versions of MAF pipes because they did indeed interfere with the flow and cause stalling and other tuning conditions. They do make for a nice sound and you can still get one if you like but the stock air box is a great piece if you want the best of both worlds.
Intake on a MAS equipped car must be calibrated.
Exhaust on a turbo car just needs to be as free flowing as possible.

cone filter is good as everyone has said for sound.........with a good tune you can have some better spool up but nothing you will be able to notice really. this is something more of a personal preference cause the stock box is capable of about the same thing.........
