GSC S1's, Megan Manifold and O2, Intake, upper I/C piping, I/C, 3" Exhaust-no cat, Walbro 255, race tune on Sunoco 116. Seems to be strong, but need a clutch to get some solid runs in. Shep is taking care of business for me this week

Started with the lightest car - an RS. From there:
- light wheels (for the size)
- lightweight drivers seat
- remove AC
- gokart passenger seat
- remove rear seats
- remove stock seatbelts
- titanium exhaust
- mini radiator
- lightweight intercooler (stock is lightest available)
- hollow swaybars
- Girodisc brake rotors
- Buschur mustache bar

For drags I also remove the bumper beams and a few other items. . .

Now this thread is moving! I was worried for a couple weeks there when the only posts I was getting were guys telling me it was in the wrong section.

Keep the info/techniques a-coming!

Take out the AC unit if you don't need it.
The Fuel evaporator unit (need EMS for this thought)
Both air bags
Door beams
F&R crash bars
I would go thru the engine bay and remove random little bolts and brackets. I'll be really happy to get my down to 2700 lbs. That's my goal.

psphinx81-if your not a fan of weight savings at all, why did you remove the spare tire and jack? LOL....

Jewish Santa- Evo General is where I would've posted this too Besides, show and shine is for non performance related and last time I checked weight reduction does affect performance Good try though....

Anyways, back on topic. Currently 2850 and will be an easy 100#'s lighter in two weeks. Changing to Apexi EXV N1 coilovers, carbon fiber seat, lightweight mustache and motormount bar, tire/wheel combo. When it's all finished I am going to corner weight it on a digital scale for exact info.
nice..
I'm going the same route..
tilton clutch @ 16lbs and the lightest suspension..apexi N1 exv

i did take it out the unneccesery parts and did some weight saving with the breaks and rims etc. but i think i will be hover around 3100 lbs with the rollcage and safety stuff pluss chassies braces etc.

but i'm still refusing to take out the A/C. Guys do you remember how bad is sitting in full race ready suits helmets and everything in the car ,when the sun heats up the car inside and you still waiting for your groupe to go on the track... I' would give up the windshield for lexan , but the rules don't let me to do it..
Any list reasonable, to stay in the Street modifyed and tuner class but take out as much weight as i can?

I guess the most weight you can take out is with the doors, cf doors ftw!
