Thanks.

Edit: You need the antenna base. Part # is MR973540.
thanks for that part number. my car looks like crap now so i need to find that thing asap. not looking forward to removing the headliner to replace it.... ugh...

removing the VG is easy, but can be a pain in the ***.

like the guy above me said, just pop your trunk and at both corners of the trunk lining just pop up the molding with either your fingers or a tool of some sort.

pop it up all the way to where your VG sits, then with either a hair dryer or a lot of breathing hot air lift up each side of the VG and blow hot air underneath to make the double-sided tape give you some leeway to pull the thing off the roof.

after you loosen it up enough pull the VG off. work on your antenna mount as needed, then just replace the VG when you're done.

you may be able to use the same double-sided tape but i recommend replacing it (that is the PITA. use floss and hot air to remove the crap from your roof, like you would in debadging the trunk, etc.)

remember to put both sides of the VG under your molding before popping it all back on, i thought i finished before then saw a side hanging out and had to do it all over again.

Here's a pic of the antenna base. Looks like the headliner has got to be removed to install this.

I honestly don't have any idea how to pop the moldings off. I figured I would start from the bottom portion of the rear glass (close to the trunk). Do you just pull it off away (upward) from the glass or parallel to the glass?

BTW, the antenna base is available at mitsuparts.net. PM RussellM

Just peel it off slowly like a strip of tape. They are held on by clips.

Start with the ends by the base of the rear window. You can only see them after you open the trunk.
